Wigan Warriors announced last Friday that it's preparation for the start of the new Super League season would receive a major boost with the announcement that Meccabingo.com would be Clubs new headline sponsor for 2009.
The deal is currently for one year sponsorship with an option for a second year should they wish. The new kit (see article picture, courtesy of wiganwarriors.com) was officially revealed last Friday (January 23rd). The deal include placement of the Meccabingo.com logo on the front and back of the Warrriors rugby shirts.
It is an interesting deal, certainly. What with Rugby being considered a very masculine sport, although there is no doubt it has a heavy female following also. Wigan Warriros website is now adorned with Mecca Bingo logos and banners, with clever captions such as 'Give us a try, we'll convert you' advertising the sites £50 sign-up bonus.
Mick Hogan, Chief Executive of Wigan Warriors was quoted as being please to have a well known, national organisation in partnership with the Wigan Warriors, adding that Mecca Bingo had exciting plans to engage its supporters that will add to their match day experience.
